Take Charge of Stress

Through breathing techniques, we have the power to activate our parasympathetic nervous system, stimulate the vagus nerve and trigger a cascade of calming responses that counteract the body’s stress hormones (cortisol). This physiological shift leads to a reduction in heart rate, blood pressure, and muscle tension, while keeping our pre-frontal cortex switched-on allowing us to think clearly. Also, by focusing on the breath we can redirect our attention away from stressors and onto those tasks that are most important to us, allowing us to break free from procrastination and resilience undermining thoughts.
