I’m Matt… Dad, Husband, Business Owner and Breathing Instructor.

As far back as I can remember I’ve been fascinated with one thing – how can we do more with the tools we have. 

My background as a competitive swimmer and my studies in Biomedical Science exposed me to the dynamic workings of the respiratory system and how it impacts all areas of the body and performance. When I transitioned into the corporate world, I experienced firsthand the impact of pressure, targets and sedentary routines as the majority of people around me seemed burnt out, demotivated and lacking energy and there was no knowledge or support available other than basic training.

I had a desire for change and to help myself and those around me, including my children, think clearer, improve their health and amplify their results so I started studying, practising and developing different strategies and techniques related to performance and mindset.

I discovered breathing techniques in 2018 and had to face a harsh truth – just like over 90% of the population I was a dysfunctional breather, so much so it was affecting the quality of my sleep, my energy levels, my focus and my slow recovery from exercise.

I needed to act on this, so I completed over 400 hours of intense breathing training and then came across The Oxygen Advantage® where I discovered another level of science-based techniques centred around performance and health, so I enrolled in the Oxygen Advantage Advanced Instructor Training Programme.

Since 2018 I have become fascinated by the impact a simple technique can have and how quickly physiological and biochemical changes can happen. I started measuring how my respiratory rate, heart rate and blood oxygen saturation levels changed while performing these techniques and soon realised that everybody would benefit from this knowledge.
